How can American Football be called football if........?

the players don't use their feet much, it's 90% running with the ball in your hands and tackling, it resembles Rugby more.

International Football on the other hand is 85% footwork and even the goalkeeper can't use his hands all the time like when a teammate passes it to him or when he's outside the penalty box

International Football is older than American Football and it was invented in England and they named it Football, so the name belongs to what Americans call Soccer. oh and FIFA stands for Fédération Internationale de Football Association (International Federation of Association Football).

and don't bring politics and start cussing and all that in here cuz

1: You know it's true and can't handle it

2: You can't answer to the question

3: This is sports not politics.

4: You've got bad vocabulary

for those who can answer gracefully, cheers. (i'm not british)How can American Football be called football if........?
I object to the statement "90% running with the ball in your hands"

That's untrue

It should read 90% of the time is spent standing around and deciding how to advance the ball.

Slow and boring game is Gridiron.

(I too refuse to call it Football, it's Gridiron)
American Sports sucks esp American Football.

And Baseball also which Americans have make it by modifying Cricket. How can American Football be called football if........?
idk it just is called that
you said 90% is running, and um, don't you need feet for running? so i guess that makes it 99.9% footwork. How can American Football be called football if........?
This questions has been asked again and again. Almost daily. Any game played on foot using a ball and not horseback can be called football. This what the wealthy in England called games played by poor. Do you ask why they call it water polo if they don't use horses?
football is a great sport now get over its name
