Why are some countries not affiliated to fifa?

i wanted to know why some countries are not affiliated to fifa. its like the small countries that no one knows about such as tibet, wast papua, chagos islands, greenland, and sidinia.

i was looking at this website and it says the countries affiliated with fifa and the countries not affiliated, but it doesnt say why they arent affiliated.

they don't have money to keep working a professional football team

or if they have it, they don't have enough population to choose talents and have an average level



also it could be that some of them belong to other countries, and are not completely independent

It would be because some are actually colonised by or territories of other countries, and so are not "officially" independent nations.



The other reason would be they just don't have a national team. Hell, some might not have any kind of soccer competition, professional or social. It isn't that far-fetched ;).
