Why Football is called Soccer in USA, when FIFA never changed their name?

When FIFA never changed their name, Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) then why does the American call this as Soccer?

Why the Americans does not call their own Game as "American Football" or something instead changing the world Football name to Soccer? Why Football is called Soccer in USA, when FIFA never changed their name?
I do not know where that guy got his information from. for him to say that soccer, football, and rugby were basically the same thing is ridiculous and just shows the ignorance of some people. Soccer in my opinion came about because Americans wanted their own identity after breaking away from the British. this is why they changed the English language to American language and they use a complex converter system to replace the metric system which makes so much more common sense. i think Americans should just stop being arrogant and respect the name of a sport that was developed by their mother country. if Americans ever want other countries to respect soccer (football) in America, they need to call it by the correct name- FOOTBALL.Why Football is called Soccer in USA, when FIFA never changed their name?
We're America. Everyone in the world speaks our language, American-English. Even Fifa. We call it Soccer because of history, which if you knew anything you'd know there was no difference between Socccer, Football and Rugby 140 years ago: in the US, the game was played mostly in the colleges (Notre Dame, Princeton, Ohio State, etc, etc) so they slowed the game down to make it more academic, (the Huddle is little more than a mini-war strategy meeting) in England the game was most popular with company teams, and so they took away the hitting, and emphasized the kicking. Rugby is probably the most true "football" to the original game, 140 years ago, and you can see since passing and running became more important in America, the ball became even more oblong, while since kicking was emphasized in England, it became more round.

But, all 3 sports; Soccer, football and rugby, have an equal claim to the name "football."Why Football is called Soccer in USA, when FIFA never changed their name?
Well, for a start, 'Soccer' is an abbreviation of the word "association". It's not an actual term for Football.

As for the Americans, they can call it what they want, but to be affiliated with FIFA, they need to adopt the correct term.

It would be improper to name it FISA ( Federation of international Soccer Association ), since 'soccer' is an abbreviation of 'association'.
Why would it bother you? America is just a little fish when it comes to world football.

As you can see they like to think that the world speaks their language, when in fact more people Speak Mandarin than any other language on earth. Poor delusional people.
